Bob Chandler Posted 20 March , 2021 Share Posted 20 March , 2021 Evening all. I'm currently reading 'Prisoners of the British' by Michael Foley and he mentions a POW camp at Redhill - near where I now live. Does anyone have any further information on this, in particular its location? Many thanks
charlie962 Posted 21 March , 2021 Share Posted 21 March , 2021 Bob, there is a report on the Guilford Camp Holmbury St Mary, after a visit by the ICRC in May 1918. I believe they visited Redhill (opened Feb 1918)at the same time. Here is a link to Surrey Archaeological Soc site about this. I suggest contacting ICRC or even Surrey Archaeological Society, Castle Arch, Quarry Street, Guildford GU1 3SX There is also a very old thread mentioning it without any detail. Do please tell me what you find as I know the area a bit (or did). Charlie
