Hello

I am researching 182/290008 Sgt Alexander Spence 1/7 Bn Black Watch. Born 1892 Dunfermline, Fife. Taken POW 22/23 March, 1918 at Beugny. I would be most grateful for any information regarding his Military Service. Many thanks.

Regards

Ron

He was issued with a Silver War Badge (number B239559) - the entry shows that he enlisted on 7 April 1908 and was discharged on the 3 April 1919 (Image courtesy of Amcestry)

Pension cards at WFA/Fold3 show a disability claim made for Deafness, Shell Shock on discharge 3.4.19 = got 6/6 from 4.4.19 and claim continued for a few years before a Final Award seems to have been made.  A Rosyth address too.
