Trying to locate his MC citation on London Gazette. Was awarded for the Regiment's action at Honnechy on 9th October 1918 (Regiment's history). Was previously 1181 Pte. in North Somerset Yeomanry

Oops, he seems to have dropped a clanger later on.

"MEMORANDUM. Lt. George Nelson Evans, M.C., late N. Somerset Yeo., T.F., is deprived of the rank of Lt. on conviction by the Civil Power. 24th Aug. 1937."

He also had an earlier clanger with his RN service (assuming there is only one George Nelson Evans' DOB 21st Oct 1889, Bristol)

'15/12/1911, approves discharge SNLR (service no longer required?) after detention, concoct false wireless telegraphy signals.'

He certainly made up for this later in life. D
