FROGSMILE Posted 5 March , 2021 Share Posted 5 March , 2021 (edited) King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (KOYLI). He’s wearing full dress scarlet tunic and undress forage cap and dressed for walking-out (of barracks) with white gloves and swagger stick. The dress you see was typical for soldiers out of barracks right up until the declaration of war in 1914. The pattern of cap he wears was introduced in 1905. The waist belt was whitened sueded leather. The regiment’s headquarters and training depot was in Pontefract so he’s taken the opportunity to have his photo taken nearby.
