Reg. number 300247 of 18th Kings Liverpool Regiment, killed in action on 28 March 1918 at Rosieres. Buried in Roye New British Cemetery, France. An able horseman from Ashton-in-Makerfield, serving Lord Gerard and the Lancashire Hussars, prior to enlistment in 1915. He took part in the Somme crossings from St. Quentin in 1918.
