The following phrase is in the above document

1. The Veterinary Service in war is under a director of veterinary services who receives instructions from the Q.M.O’s branch of the staff. He is assisted by a deputy director and represented in divisions by assistant directors.

Can anyone tell me what Q.M.O. means please, can't find a solution anywhere.

Q M G = Quartermaster-General's Department. The O is probably a typo, or you may simply have mis-read it.

Perfect, thank you, this site rarely lets me down.

Its either a typo or an OCR error, which is more likely.
