michaela Posted 14 February , 2021 Share Posted 14 February , 2021 In connection to my other post concerning John James Rigby, I have recently found a pension index card for him. Besides his address, regiment number and pension record number, it also has circled ‘AA 3324’. Can anyone please tell me what this refers to? Why, also is the card stamped ‘dead 1930’ when he didn’t die until 1972? Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks.
jay dubaya Posted 14 February , 2021 Share Posted 14 February , 2021 I believe it was the pension claim that was ‘dead’ not the claimant
Admin RussT Posted 14 February , 2021 Admin Share Posted 14 February , 2021 Not sure for what AA 3324 stands - probably some pension office reference. But the stamp DEAD just means the claim was closed .... ss002d6252 Posted 14 February , 2021 Share Posted 14 February , 2021 The AA is an internal reference, probably a later Pension Issue Office reference. His pension claim seems to have been rejected. Craig
