Stephb37 Posted 10 February , 2021 Share Posted 10 February , 2021 Hi I’m new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated I have found some ww1 war records that relate to Walter Henry Hooper. There are two different service numbers for him 21790/41604 if anybody could give me an insight as to what they all mean thanks in advance
ss002d6252 Posted 10 February , 2021 Share Posted 10 February , 2021 Service numbers weren't army wide at the time. At some point he changed regiments and was given a new service number for the new regiment. Craig

ss002d6252 Posted 10 February , 2021 Share Posted 10 February , 2021 Ah, the pension card. Many (hundreds of ) hours I've spent with them... He was discharged to the Class Z reserve from the Wiltshire regiment in 1919. Previously in the AVC. The 8/ reference tells us he was in the South West region when he received his pension. The SDF number is to do with the Pension Payment identity card number. Craig
