Hi I’m new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated I have found some ww1 war records that relate to Walter Henry Hooper. There are two different service numbers for him 21790/41604 if anybody could give me an insight as to what they all mean thanks in advance

Service numbers weren't army wide at the time. At some point he changed regiments and was given a new service number for the new regiment.

Ah, the pension card. Many (hundreds of ) hours I've spent with them...

He was discharged to the Class Z reserve from the Wiltshire regiment in 1919. Previously in the AVC.

The 8/ reference tells us he was in the South West region when he received his pension.

The SDF number is to do with the Pension Payment identity card number.
