Remembered Today:

AB Walter Thomas Ellis

Recommended Posts

AB W.T. Ellis was my grandad.  He was killed in action on 4 February 1917 when the Hood battalion (63rd. Royal Naval Division) attacked Puisieux and River trenches near Beaucourt sur l"Ancre.  He was originally buried in  a small plot near Baillescourt farm, but his body was exhumed in 1919 when it was concentrated, along with the many other RND officers and men found there and in the other small cemeteries nearby, into Queen's cemetery, Bucquoy.
