A Rankin Posted 31 January , 2021 Posted 31 January , 2021 Good afternoon all, I have been working on collecting and creating a finding aid/index for the Central Distribution Section (CDS) and Stationery Service (SS) pamphlets created by the British Army. I have used the various lists available on the internet including the “CDS and SS Manuals” list maintained by John Armatys and the lists put together by green_acorn on this forum. Where I hope to build upon them is to gather all the imprint and bibliographical details and find a confirmed source for each pamphlet. An increasing number of pamphlets are available online, either hosted as a standalone document or found within archival documents that have been digitized and uploaded, including the WO 95 series of war diaries at the National Archives of the UK (TNA). Here are some pamphlets from CDS 1-15. I hope to upload further links as I work my way through the list. CDS 1 Notes on Field Defences. A Rankin Posted 11 February , 2021 Author Posted 11 February , 2021 Another good source of SS pamphlets is from Digital History Archive, operated by Marc Romanych. The particular collections that have SS pamphlets are German Weapons & Tactics 1916-18, The German View of the Western Front 1916-18 and British Military Operations in France 1917-18 and a few in US Army Division & Higher Formation Operations Manuals 1916-18. http://www.digitalhistoryarchive.com/wwi-documents--photos.html Disclaimer. I am in no way affiliated with Marc or his website and have no financial interests in directing traffic to him. I have bought several of his products and have found them to be good value.

These two files were an order I placed in December, and some of other order items have also been uploaded for the public, but not all...I'm not sure of the decision process as to what is uploaded and what is not. AWM's holdings of the AWM25, AWM26 and AWM27 series can be searched for at https://www.awm.gov.au/advanced-search and found under the heading "digitised collection" AWM25, AWM26 and AWM27 files are records created by the Australian War Memorial after the First World War to facilitate writing Australia's official history. They are contained in National Archives of Australia catalogue, but held at the AWM. More information can be found on each series at the NAA recordsearch portal by isolating the series https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/Interface/SearchScreens/BasicSearch.aspx
