Remembered Today:

WW1 issued spoon

Hi, just wondering if anyone could help me interpret some numbers and letters inscribed on a WW1 spoon, it belonged to my great grandfather Patrick Quinn 7515, 2nd BN Irish Guards.

Beside his regiment no there seems to be a 31C, any ideas what this could mean?

Thanks in advance

Thought that but he’s was 2nd BN..

The seriph at the top of the curve certainly makes it look like a poorly struck G. Perhaps he was originally posted to 3rd Batt. on enlistment, before serving overseas with the 2nd.
