Burial return entries

The burial return at:

https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/find-war-dead/casualty-details/550330/H SNOW/#&gid=2&pid=1 has what look like reference numbers under "Was cross on grave".  They don't appear in the CWGC glossary and I have a faint memory of similar entries being described as simply part of the GRU registration process whose significance is now unclear.

 

Clarification would be much appreciated.

It's thought that the SN prefix relates to the Captain Thomas List and relate to registered burials on the Somme. A vast wealth of research of the burial records can be found here
