Private 12006 Benjamin Rees James, son of Mary and David Owen James, 14 Martin-street, Fochriw, enlisted 18 Aug 1914 and landed at Gallipoli with the 8th Welsh on 4 Aug 1915.  According to a local rag dated 20 Nov 1915, “he took part in the landing at Sulva Bay.  He was slightly wounded and is at present at Lord Derby’s Hospital, Warrington, where he is at present convalescing.”

Medal Roll V & BW show at some point served with 19th Welsh

The War Badge Roll show he was A/Cpl, and received Badge No 504233, Discharged 10 Jan 1919 Para 392 (xvia) to Army Reserve Class P.

Searched for records (Ancestry) to no avail.  Can someone please help with some background info and details of the nature of wounds etc
