Droocoo Posted 17 December , 2020 Share Posted 17 December , 2020 Hi there, Does anyone have access to the 5th Gloucestershire Regiment's war diaries from November 1917 onwards? They were in Italy with the 48th Division, but I cannot seem to find their diary. I have the Fifth Gloster Gazette but of course it is informal and does not describe the unit's movements or actions. Kind Regards, Andrew

Bean tool Posted 17 December , 2020 Share Posted 17 December , 2020 Hey Droocoo, I do have the attached documents relating to the battle of Asagio. Are you researching a particular soldier or the regiment? I would be keen to see what you come up with. Cheers Dan Document (6).pdf Document (3).pdf

Droocoo Posted 17 December , 2020 Author Share Posted 17 December , 2020 (edited) Dan, I am a 5th Glosters medal collector so I have quite a few men to research who fought at Asiago. I am writing a biography for James Meadows currently, a Gloucester rugby player who fought in Italy. Where do the documents that you have posted come from? Kind Regards, Andrew Chris, I will send him a message! Hopefully he has it. Andrew Edited 17 December , 2020 by Droocoo
Bean tool Posted 17 December , 2020 Share Posted 17 December , 2020 Hi Andrew, If you can bare with me when I get home from work this weekend I'll send you what I've got. I can't remember off the top of my head where I got those documents. I did a lot of research about two/three years ago so I'll see if I can locate the source. It may have been sogm but I'll have to double check Cheers Dan
