Clarke Trench

Hi all hope someone can help me. I have an ancestor who was killed on 16th September 1916 between Clarke and eye trench, I'm trying to locate these trenches on a map, can anyone help me please.

Hi Gav and welcome to the forum.

 

Chasseaud's book shows them as marked, somewhere in the 2 squares below.  Clarke is closest to High Wood in square 3c and Eye in square 2b,

Welcome

This is from the WD of 1 Div HQ General Staff September 1916. (Ancestry). There was a recent thread about the attack by 1 Infantry Brigade in that month. Eye Trench and Clarks Trench are bottom right centre in S 3 and the map is dated September 1916.
