Hi, I believe this man was in the Royal Naval Division. He died of wounds and is buried in Duisans Cemetery at Etrun. Is there any way of establishing when he was wounded?

TIA

His battalion, 1/RMLI, relieved 2/RMLI in the front line trenches at Gavrelle on the night of 14/15 August until relieved by 2/RMLI on the night of 19/20 August. During this 'quiet' trench period only one OR was reported wounded in the war diary. This could well have been Pte CAINE. 1/RMLI was out of the line in reserve on 26 August when he died.

Many thanks Horatio. That would fit.
