clive_hughes Posted 7 November , 2020 Share Posted 7 November , 2020 One of the 31 Amb. Train passengers on 25 July 1917, boarding at Mendinghem and disembarking Boulogne, was 43798 Pte. Richard Jones 16th RWF. He, with a good many others around him on that page, was classified as "Gassed (S) Lachy. " He died of other wounds later in the war, but would the above indicate straightforward Lachrymatory (as in Tear) gas, or in those first days of its use would it perhaps be describing one effect of Mustard gas? Secondarily, might (S) indicate Slight or Severe? Thanks, Clive
