I believe that he was in the 1st (City of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers) in 1914. As Adjutant, he was responsible to the commanding officer for unit administration and what we call human resources nowadays (personnel matters). So when the battalion was mobilising, he would have been a key facilitator. Acknown Addition: Henry Norman, I think.
