Hi,

 I have a single, red identity disc named to “ R.Q.M.S. A.J. Smith. R.C. 4809. Gds. M.G.R. “.

There’s no records on Ancestry or F.M.P under that number,  but  I’m a bit confused as to where his records may, or may not be found anyway;   Life Guards, R.H.G. etc.  Might he get a mention in a war diary or regimental history perhaps?

Any thoughts would be welcomed please.

Looks like numbers allocated alphabetically. All below are Smiths

4806 Albert George

4807 Albert H

4808 Arthur H

Suspect he has a previous number

4807 got his number on 10/5/18 after transfer from 2 Life Guards.

edit

Have a look at 2659 2 Life Guards he was a QM. AJ Smith MID. MSM.

MIC suggests became 166451 MGC
