private 20903 john jones king's liverpool regiment

Hi

i wonder if anyone can help, Private John Jones 20903 died on 15th June 1915 aged 53 and is buried at Allerton Cemetery  i am struggling to find out which battalion he served with the Kings Liverpool Regiment, nothing marked on grave or with the CWGC, any help would be appreciated

He was serving with 5 Supernummerary Coy of the KLR (see Long Long Trail above link for more info). His papers have survived and can be accessed both on FMP and Ancestry if you have an account.

Hi Russ,

 

His papers largely indicate the 8th Supernumerary Company, (3/) 5th Battalion, KLR.
