Guest Posted 4 October , 2020 Share Posted 4 October , 2020 I have just been going through some familiy history and come across this ribbon. He sergeant instructor on Lewis machine-guns in the Bedfordshire Regiment and later served with the 4th Battalion of the North Staffordshire Regiment on the western front firstly on the Somme and then near Ypres. Does anyone know what the red/white {or is it pink}/red ribbon (there is very thin black line between the colours? Thanks

Thank you so much. He and his familiy were also in Shanghai whilst it was being attacked by the Japanese (prior to our hostilities with the Japanese!). As a boy my father-in-law used to go up onto the roof to watch the bombing, and even had a rifle nozzle pushed into his chest because - as Chiang Kai-Shek was about take off from an airport nearby. Hairy times indeed. Many thanks again
