Lest We Forget Posted 4 October , 2020 Posted 4 October , 2020 I have been searching for the war record for a specific soldier but it looks like they may have not survived the bombing of the records in 1940 so I am wondering what other avenues might exist. The soldier in question was in the Manchester Regiment and anecdotal evidence is that he was serving in France and his entire group apart form himself and one other soldier were killed. He then transferred to the Northumberland Fusiliers and stayed on force until 1920. If anyone has any suggestions of where information might be be available tat would be appreciated Lest We Forget
Admin Michelle Young Posted 4 October , 2020 Admin Posted 4 October , 2020 Welcome to the forum. His record might be with the MOD if he served post war. Michelle

mancpal Posted 4 October , 2020 Posted 4 October , 2020 The reason I asked about which Mcr bttn was if he had been in one of the pals bttns it is likely a platoon photo with him on it would exist, I think Charlies advice re the Manchester Regiment forum will be useful in your search. Best of luck, Simon
