Gregory Counsell Posted 2 October , 2020 Share Posted 2 October , 2020 Royal Field Artillery Richard Jones 24597. Any information about which Unit he might have served in date of service and division.... also if he was injured during conflict he survived the war and died in 1961, Greg
David Porter Posted 2 October , 2020 Share Posted 2 October , 2020 (edited) From his number, it would appear he initially joined No. 2 Depot RFA, Preston, in early September 1914. From his date of entry, he may have gone to France with 78th Brigade RFA. He doesn't appear in the Silver War Badge rolls, so if injured or sick it was not enough to see his service curtailed.
