Ooo ... you are a tease!

Do you not have his unit to help us please?

There are at least two 2nd Lieutenant C A Ridley's listed on the MIC's plus one 2nd Lieutenant G A Ridley. That's not including those who have later rank of full Lieutenant or above (which would likely be as inscribed on the BWM instead), or those with transposed initials (A C or A G). I read the medal naming as for a 2nd Lieutenant C A Ridley, in which case even allowing it to be all correct it looks like he is likely at least one of two possible candidates:

2nd Lieutenant G A Ridley

I would feel the more likely as I don't think a DSO, MC, 1914-15 Star, BWM & VM would have got split up [I wouldn't split a group like that] - but who knows?

Arantaxa hasn't given us a unit but ...

Not quite how I would have described my interest [into death photos?!?] but certainly an interesting photo.

Any idea on place and/or date?

Lots of rank chevrons pulling and accompanying the coffin - One would potentially suspect respectfully for at least a Serjeant

The Colour Serjeant and at least two Serjeants appear to have medal ribbons - but from which war?  SA?? or GW???

[Admittedly missing out many potential other medal options too]

:-) M
