59935 pte percy bowker 1st/5th northumberland fusiliers help please

im trying to find percy's bowkers fathers first name and what happened to him 

percy was born in batley west yorkshire in 1899

his mothers maiden name i think was swallow 

first name alice

According to this page, Percy's father was James Bowker, born c1879 -

Four pension card records at WFA & Fold 3

Mother was recorded as Mrs Alice Bowker - Remarried = Mrs A Swallow [and a note says Clmt remarried 18.12.20 and a Gratuity of £7.16 on 12.2.21] - which at least seems to corroborate that part of Dewsbury Sacrifices

But not his father I'm afraid.

This could be James, heading to Quebec, Canada in 1906. His occupation and county match.

If you haven't seen it before...he was listed as missing in the Casualty list, published July 30th, 1918.

59935 Pte Percy Bowker had originally served with the 3rd Training Reserve Battalion on enlistment and was originally numbered TR/5/4720. From the Training Reserve he was initially posted to the 16th Bn, Northumberland Fusiliers and eventually posted to 'D' Coy, 1/5th Bn, N.F.. I have a home address of 448 Huddersfield Road, Ravensthorpe and as you will already know he was 19yrs of age on his death on the 27th May 1918.

The marriage cert would tell us if she was widowed.

Just delving a little further, James is not with his wife and family in 1901, Percy and his Mother are living with her parents at 8 Brearley Place, Batley.
