Hi Does anyone have any information where the 17th Middlesex regiment were on the 7. January 1918. I am trying to research a casualty who died that day shortly after receiving a GSW to the head.  Thank you

The War Diary should help: https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C7351988

Addition: They were in Nissen huts at BEAULENCOURT, '... about 1/4 mile E. of that place on the VILLERS-AU-FLOS road.' On 07 Jan 18, 'Coys at disposal of Company Commanders. Weather very bad, so companies carried on with improvements of huts.'

I assume you are researching Pte Peter Booth. Following the WD, there is an interesting hand-written account of an operation on the 03/04 Jan in which the 17th received casualties. Perhaps this is when Booth was wounded.

Many  Thanks Acknown for your reply. Yes it is Pte Booth and with your reply I am leaning to the 3/4th for the date of his death or at least the date he received his wound.

I notice that the 6th Field Ambulance was at BEAULENCOURT in Jan 18: https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C14016772. It's possible that Booth was treated there. Alternatively, the 2nd Division contained the 5th and 100th FAs at that time (LLT).
