the 89th battery royal field artillery

evening everyone

 

my great, great, great uncle Donald served in ww1 but before the war he served in india in the 89th battery royal field artillery would anybody be able to tell me what his unit would have done and if he received an india general service medal while stationed there, i know he was stationed there in 1911 by the census but i'm unable to trace his enrolement form, service book and pension as to when he joined the army and wondered it i could find out from his battery history

 

any help would be much appreciated
