Vickers made only 1500 of these in early 1917 (yours is 2 '17) before switching to the Patt. 1907, of which they made 10,000. This one is only the second that I have seen. In terms of value, the rarity bumps it up considerably over a Vickers P. 1907, but the condition lowers it a little. A little TLC (NOT drastic cleaning, but bronze wool / light machine oil to remove surface rust; light treatment with linseed oil on the grips) NO sharpening, would improve it cosmetically for sale. I have only seen two in 60 years and I own both of them. You have a very nice find. Â No - the letter V within the C refers to the Vickers factory at Crayford in Kent where it was made.
