CassieRae Posted 4 August , 2020 Share Posted 4 August , 2020 (edited) I have a Londoner who joined the Duke of Cambridge (Middlesex Regt (pioneers) who I understand melded with/ into the 41st Division. He died of wounds on 21st August in France 1916. The War diaries around that date are full of training and working in the trenches laying frames etc. The only note that there was any enemy action was on 12th August 1916: 'Little work done owing to hostile shell fire. 16 frames finished' Is it possible that this soldier lay 8 days wounded before he died? I need better more army experienced minds here please. Thanks Edited 4 August , 2020 by CasseRae
