Very idly Googling, I came across this website about whistles

 

Which doesn't answer your question.

 

Eighty-one whistles (some comparable to yours) of offer on eBay. Just possibly the description of one or another may answer your query.

 

Though knowing GWF members someone will be along very soon with an authoritative answer.
