Mercantile Marine Medal Rolls

Am looking at Medal Rolls at TNA but there are ca 250 pages of these and I am now on page 10. Is there an easier way please?

They are not in Alpha order, almost as if they were dropped on floor.

HAMMOND, Robert 955068  I have a note that his medal card is at:
Naval War Medal Roll:1914-1920 Volume 48  Bu there is no place to add this it seems.
15 Mar 1916 Hospital Aldershot

Anyone cover Mercantile Marines please?

He is on the page numbered 125 (page 132 of the Preview) of ADM 171/131 - Victory and British War medals claimed by and issued to Self.

They are in alpha order of surname.

Thank you so much for this Horartio2  and Acknown - now got it - not much more information than I had though - is this an index to more or is that it?

There are four sets of medal rolls for the ratings of the Mercantile Marine Reserve. The lists are in alphabetical order, so there would be no need for an alphabetical index.
