oscarquebec Posted 28 July , 2020 Share Posted 28 July , 2020 (edited) I've just found a copy of Part 9 of 'The War Pictorial' published in Montreal Canada in November 1914. The volume is dedicated to all of Britain's sons who crossed the seas in response to the call of King and Country. Apparently families of service men and women were offered specially printed front covers to include the name of their family member who served at an extra cost of 15 shillings and 9 pence. The copy I have is dedicated to Private George Robert 35th Battalion CEF so I guess his family paid the extra required for the dedication. I've been unable to find out anything about Private Robert of his family, any ideas or information would be appreciated. Moonraker Posted 28 July , 2020 Share Posted 28 July , 2020 There's only one George Robert whose service records are listed, and he doesn't seem to match your man - he was in the 22nd Battalion.
