CassieRae Posted 25 July , 2020 Share Posted 25 July , 2020 Looking for Pte Frerick Heath 10601 RBerks Rgt but have a query. Frederick travelled to Reading to enlist and became Private Frederick Heath 10601 5th Battalion Princess Charlotte of Wales (Royal Berkshire Regiment). LLT Shows: The 5th Battalion was formed at Reading on 25th August 1914 as part of Kitchen's first Army and placed under the command of 35th Brigade in 12th (Eastern) Division. Moved initially to Shorncliffe Army Camp is a large military camp near Cheriton in Kent and on to Folkestone in January 1915. They then moved to Malplaquet Barracks at Aldershot on 1st March 1915 until the 31st May 1915. They landed in France on 6th February 1918 and transferred to 36th Brigade in same Division. ----- Now this soldier died seemingly prior to going to France. So I am puzzled as he is supposed to have died near Loos. Was Killed in Action 16th October 1915 aged 18 years.
