David_Blanchard Posted 24 July , 2020 Share Posted 24 July , 2020 After over 25 years on and off research in trying to track down a photograph of William Vernon Burgess in uniform- I have managed at last to trace the family. I received a photograph of his death penny and a photograph of him in a unit photograph. He was gazetted into the 9 Berkshire Regiment but had taken part in a number of training courses- I am assuming this is a photograph of him attending one of these courses probably at Wadham College Oxford- as I think there are a number of different cap badges here, or is it the 9 Berkshires at Wool near Bovingham in Dorset in training? Also included here is a photograph of him from Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys, Canterbury, Football team 1913.
