charlesgosse Posted 17 July , 2020 Share Posted 17 July , 2020 This is a copper, gravity-fed reserve fuel tank - and a piece of the propeller hub - from a German two-seater L.V.G. C.II of FFA Nr. 61 shot down 12 March 1916 over Bois de Thiescourt by Georges Guynemer of Escadrille N.3. The entire story is told in my article La 8e Avion Boche de Guynemer in the journal Over The Front. Visit aeroconservancy.com to read about this in more detail.
