seaJane Posted 17 July , 2020 Share Posted 17 July , 2020 Not only was the person captioning this photograph using an awful pen, I think he was left-handed using a right-handed nib. And on top of that two of the names were Greek and I think transmitted by word of mouth rather than typed. The RN surgeons have been worked out via the Navy List, but does anyone have any ideas about the two Greek names? Back row second from right, front row second from left. This is a close-up of the back row, second from right name. All the RN men served during the Great War: I can post the whole group if people would like to see it. eyman Posted 22 August , 2023 Share Posted 22 August , 2023 My guess would be Pavlinis (or possibly Pavlianis) for the one in the front row. Can't make sense of the other name. I wonder if first letter is H which can be a transliteration of Ch (chi). Ian
