Remembered Today:

Polish Furmanka wagon photo

Recommended Posts

I'm reading White Eagle, Red Star: The Polish-Soviet War 1919-20 by Norman Davies. He mentioned that the Polish Army exhaustively used a horse drawn wagon, which he called the Furmanka wagon. It's apparently a v-shape wagon that was mostly used by local farmers. I'm wondering if anyone has a photo of the wagon being used by the Polish army? I'm having a hard time grasping how such a wagon worked in combat. Google brings up only non-combat photos.

Thank you kindly.

It was that simple, wasn't it? I like the fact that they included hay for the horse. Thanks for the image.
