shaun42 Posted 13 July , 2020 Share Posted 13 July , 2020 Hi can any body help me decipher this record it looks like George Rogers was in the Army for 68 days prior to transferring to RFC/RAF I can’t work out what 3/5 S S R is and if he joined the army would he have a medal card or service records for that unit before being transferred to RAF any help would be appreciated Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The 3/5th was a UK only training and holding unit. As such no medal entitlement so no medal card. https://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/army/regiments-and-corps/the-british-infantry-regiments-of-1914-1918/south-staffordshire-regiment/ Royal Flying Corps was Army so his service records would have followed him and then, like him, would have transferred to the R.A.F.
