AOK4 Posted 11 July , 2020 Share Posted 11 July , 2020 Some articles in Durch about this week's signing of the contract giving 354,000 euros from Flanders (ministry of real estate heritage) for the renovation of several cemeteries. It is part of a series of similar contracts, totalling some 4 million euros over 5 years. I also read that negotiations are underway for a new contract for 2022-2026 to renovate 30 further cemeteries and the Menin Gate. Don't say any more that the cemeteries in Flanders are paid with British/Commonwealth money, as they are part of the Flemish heritage, there's quite a bit of Flemish money flowing to them... https://www.focus-wtv.be/nieuws/weer-vlaams-geld-voor-restauratie-britse-begraafplaatsen https://www.hln.be/in-de-buurt/ieper/minister-diependaele-kent-354-000-euro-toe-voor-de-restauratie-van-oorlogsbegraafplaatsen-dit-funerair-erfgoed-moeten-we-onderhouden-het-vormt-de-basis-van-vredeseducatie~aec649bc/
