I can’t find anything on 1809 Pte. H. Barker. Rifle Brigade. I’ve looked for his M. I. Card with no luck. Can any member help.   Thank you.  Lyn.

Enlisted 3/9/14, overseas 29/7/15 to 1st Rifle Brigade. In September 1916 suffered from hearing problems, auricle & external auditory meatus and moved to the Labour Corps.

He did receive a pension for this and there are a couple of pages in the pension records, look under his Labour Corps number.

From Western Front Association & Fold3 under #572206, Labour Corps

After trans[fer] 30.3.19 thanks to a conditional [from 31.3.19 until at least 5/4/20 - not clear if it continued or ever became final ??] disability pension Pension Ledger [Form No. S.B 36] - Region 3 - for Otitis media, agg 20% = gives his address as: 251 Whit Lane, Pendleton, Manchester. YoB given as: 1895 and single

Significantly matches the pension card details previously posted [which was a very handy extra lead]
