David Porter Posted 15 July , 2020 Share Posted 15 July , 2020 No, all the evidence shows he was sent overseas after November 11, 1918. Almost all postings at that time were random. There was no correlation between 1B Reserve Brigade and final destination. In fact, he may well have been posted via Woolwich (4A Reserve Brigade RFA) as this was the usual route overseas if not tied to a unit.

The RFA Brigades remaining with the 26th Division were 57th, 115th and 116th. Divisional Headquarters was at Varna and groupings were located at Ruscuk, Silistra and Bazargic (Dobric). It appears that 57th Brigade RFA remained in Salonika, 115th Brigade RFA was disbanded in the Dobruja area on April 18, 1919 and 116th Brigade RFA left Varna on April 21, 1919 and disembarked at Alexandria on April 26, 1919, before joining 10th Division. By this time about a quarter of the Other Ranks were of Indian origin.
