(1904). 3) Joined Indian Service of Engineers, 1907-1939 4) Southern Provinces Mounted Rifles, AFI (Vol LS Medal 1928) 5) IARO commn. 28 Aug 1916, attd. 2 QVO Sappers & Miners. 6) To Mesopotamia 20 Nov 1916 (Military Works Service). 7) No 2 Works Company, Amara, 1 Jan 1916. Comd. Capt W. J. Thornhill, RE (T.C.) 8) 25 May 1918 Amara Section; then Kut Section. 9) Royal Engineers Indian Establishment, Works Directorate Force "D" (Mesopotamia Expeditionary Force) 1916-20: T/Major and 2x MiD. Medals. 10) Moplah Rebellion: Executive Engineer 1921-22 (Medal and clasp). 11) Executive Engineer, Coimbatore Division, 1929-1939. 12) 1935 Jubilee Medal; 13) 1937 Coronation Medal. 14) 1939 retired to Stonehills, Tilford, Farnham, Surrey (wife Mable; son Michael John Davis, 1922-2004). 15) Died aged 83, on 9 Feb 1968.
