This man appears as died Zhob, 1930 in the GRO Army Deaths Indices on FindmyPast here.

Can I obtain a copy death certificate that gives me more than appears in the Index ? I cannot quite work out if and how .

I'm pretty sure it is a Great War soldier that I am researching.. But I need service number to confirm.

Help please! Many thanks in advance

Do you think that this looks like the 91561 RFA Albert V Ives ? To Mespot on 18 Aug 1915,captured at the fall of Kut on 29 April 1916 and a POW under the Turks until 12 Dec 1918 ?

Zhog (aka Fort Sandeman, Quetta, Balochistan) in 1930 was still a British fort.

I am wondering if you can find info on death from the WO156 series at Kew.

That is the Albert Victor Ives I am researching. He survived Kut and continued after 1920 to serve, but in the RASC. There is no obvious MoD Held Service File to match him.

Tapping Ives and WO156 into Discovery does not find me anything.

I am aware that there is an on-line ordering system for copy death certificates of the normal UK type, although I've never used it. I was wondering if this facility extends tio the GRO Army Deaths Indices. What the FMP transcription says is, courtesy FindmyPast, :

thanks Maureen , i'll look at that as it is what I am after. Initial look suggests the 'cheeper' online pdf is not available for these.
