Hi Paul,

This forum has an excellent search engine which covers this topic in depth.  The Mapping the Western Front

DVD series has the data you want and the term 'Body Density' is a bit of a misnomer, as it actually shows the

number of bodies thought to be present by the Directorate of Graves Registration & Enquiries when post-war

retrieval started in earnest.

The figures were obtained for a 500 x 500 yard grid.  While there is an obvious correlation between the heaviest

fighting and the highest concentration, such as 829 at the NZ memorial, north of Longueval, these are not body

density maps.

The map shows the heatmap for Individual Burial Locations.

Thanks Paul,

I know the location up near the Lonsdales.I had a similar query but in squares X19,20,21  at La Boisselle.I contacted the IWM who have the maps and they did me a. A5 copy from the master they hold.A small cost.I believe square 31c covers your area.

As post from Michelle says they are on WFA CD rom trench maps.Plus as WhiteStarLine says plenty on the Forum
Regards Zil
