Mossborough - Where is (or was) it?

According to the LLT, the 2/6th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers was formed at Mossborough on 29 September 1914.

Anyone know where Mossborough is (or was)?

I can see a Mossborough Rd and Mossborough Drive near St Helens but I can't find an actual place of that name.

Regards

Russ

It may refer to Mossborough Hall, map from Library of Scotland, cuttings from the BNA

Thank you - I think that's correct. You have also given me the idea of searching the newspaper archive - bingo

I knew the Molyneux family (Lord Sefton) and Lord Derby would be on the title deeds somewhere, as is my house https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1012322
