Cheshire Observer - Saturday 21 April 1928

Busy man though he was, Mr. Ravenshaw acted as group leader for the special constables it is noteworthy that his lawn at Mollington Grange was the birthplace of the Volunteer movement in the Great War. Here the first squad of civilians prepared to defend their hearths and homes against any possible invasion, and this lead, in which Dr. Trevor Williams and Mr. Ravenshaw were the moving spirits, was rapidly taken up until the whole county was a network of Volunteer organisations.

He was Robert S. Ravenshaw
