Rob Chester Posted 20 June , 2020 Share Posted 20 June , 2020 Hi, can anyone help me interpret the detail of the German unit in the attached photograph. I assume they were in IX Reserve Corps and were stationed in Dobeln, but can't decipher the rest. Any help would be much appreciated. The caption on the picture is 9 KORPS. 1. REKR. DEPOT, RES.JNE.REG. No.106 DOBELN.WELTKRIEG 1915 Thanks Rob
Bordercollie Posted 20 June , 2020 Share Posted 20 June , 2020 (edited) I think it is Rekr Depot Res Inf Reg No.106 which would make it Recruit Depot Reserve Infantry Regiment No.106 Edited 20 June , 2020 by Bordercollie
AOK4 Posted 20 June , 2020 Share Posted 20 June , 2020 It says 9. Korporalschaft 1. Rekruten-Depot, Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment N° 106 Döbeln. That's a sub-unit of the recruit depot (based in Germany) of Saxon Reserve Infantry Regiment 106. These pictures of groups of recruits are very common.
