Identify this RFC crew!

FeeBee67

Hello, I am trying to identify the pilots & crew in this photo.

Unfortunately there is no background information on any of them apart from they were *possibly* part of 57 Squadron. I have been in contact already with the RAF Information Officer for 57 Squadron but they are unable to verify if indeed these were their crew as little information is available.

The plane is a DH4 and we think the pilot’s collar badges look like those of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders and he is wearing the early-style DFC ribbon.

The man seated to his right has the British RNAS petty officer's cap badge?

Also wondering if these are brothers - back row, last right + front row, second from the right. They look very similar!

Any help would be gladly received as we're unsure where to really start with this search - we have had the original photo colourised in the hope it may help.

Found names & also air aces of 57 Sqn but no photos... also there is a question mark as to whether they are even associated with 57 Sqn. We thought so but cannot be sure.

Kimberley John Lindsay

Dear FeeBee67,

It looks like the Pilot with the DFC and most unorthodox scull & cross-bones flying helmet is posing with his faithful Ground Crew.

Kindest regards,

Kim.
