Great War Saints ?

I wonder how many soldiers or sailors from the Great War have been declared Saints or Blessed?

I know of two, but suspect there are others:

- St. Nicholas of Russia, and

- Blessed Charles of Austria.

Hello,

There is a German soldier who is declared blessed. I have done a bit of research about him in the past. Now, where can I find that stuff so that I can give his name?

Are you thinking of Franz Jägerstätter from WW2?

According to wikipedia Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli (Pope John XXIII) served in the Italian Army in WW1. He was canonised in 2014 (I think).

Yet, I still think Engling is probably the only front line soldier who died on the battlefield who was beatified.
