Mark Trapnell Posted 5 June , 2020 Share Posted 5 June , 2020 Does anyone have any thoughts about the date and use of this siren? We have always assumed it was a gas siren from WW1 as my grandfather was commandant of the Gas school for XX corps April 1917 onwards, having been in the trenches from 1915 until then. It has been adapted so maybe just the central siren was original. The German writing on it is not really legible to me. The colour is camouflage green. The diameter of the central round piece is 25 cm. It makes a great sound and any info on it would be very interesting.
